Rescue: 27 August 2008, Ref: Staithes 016 2008
Fishing Vessel Towed In

Staithes RNLI lifeboat launched at 12:05pm on Wednesday after the skipper of a 28 foot fishing vessel became disabled with engine trouble.

The ‘Ranger’ from Staithes had a suspected blockage in the fuel line and the skipper radioed the coastguard for assistance. Staithes volunteer lifeboat crew launched the ‘Pride of Leicester’ and quickly found the fishing boat.

The lifeboat towed ‘Ranger’ back to Staithes, arriving safely at 1:10pm.
